Colors of Morocco: Cities, Mountains & Medina

Arrive in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic hub. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to Rabat, the country’s capital, located approximately 1.5 hours away by private vehicle.
Check in to your hotel and take some time to relax after your journey. In the evening, meet your Tour Manager for a welcome orientation, where you will review the itinerary, learn about Morocco’s culture, and receive tips for the days ahead. Conclude the day with a welcome dinner at your hotel, offering a chance to sample authentic Moroccan cuisine and connect with fellow travelers.

Begin your day with a guided tour of Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Explore the historic Oudaya Kasbah, a fortress overlooking the Bou Regreg River and the Atlantic Ocean, and visit the Oudaya National Museum of Ornaments, featuring exquisite decorative pieces, jewelry, ceramics, and textiles. Continue to the iconic Hassan Tower, the unfinished minaret of a 12th-century mosque, a symbol of the city’s rich history.
After lunch, depart Rabat and travel along the Atlantic coast to Asilah, a charming fortified town with history dating back to 1500 BC. Stroll through its narrow medina streets, admire the whitewashed walls decorated with murals, and visit Raissouni Palace.
In the late afternoon, continue your journey to Tangier for check-in at your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure or enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Start the day with a scenic drive to Cap Spartel, located at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and take photos of the stunning seascape.
Next, visit the Caves of Hercules, a natural wonder with legendary associations, perched dramatically along the cliffs. Learn about the myths and history linked to this iconic site.
Return to Tangier for an afternoon city tour. Explore the Tangier American Legation, a historic five-story mansion and the only American National Historic Landmark outside the U.S. Wander through the lively Grand Socco, Tangier’s largest market, and step into the Kasbah, including the Kasbah Museum, to experience the city’s rich history and culture.
Spend the evening at leisure in Tangier or enjoy local dining options before returning to your hotel.

Depart from Tangier and travel east along the Mediterranean coast toward M’Diq. Along the way, stop in Tetouan, a city nestled at the foothills of the Rif Mountains, known for its multicultural heritage.
Explore Tetouan’s Spanish-influenced medina, which features Jewish, Andalusian, and Berber quarters. Visit the Ethnographic Museum and the Archaeological Museum of Tetouan, showcasing artifacts from prehistoric times through the Roman and Islamic periods. Sample some local products before continuing your journey.
Arrive in M’Diq for free time to enjoy lunch on your own. Later, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Depart from M’Diq and head south toward Fez, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Along the way, stop at Chefchaouen, famously known as the “Blue Pearl” due to its striking blue-painted streets and buildings.
Wander through the charming medina, admire the unique blue hues, and explore artisan shops selling local crafts. Learn about the city’s history, including its 15th-century Jewish influence, which inspired the blue painting tradition.
After exploring Chefchaouen, continue your journey to Fez. Check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner in the evening.

Begin your day with a panoramic view of Fez from Borj Sud, offering a stunning overview of the ancient city. Enter through Bab Boujloud, the iconic “Blue Gate,” and explore Fes el Bali Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit the Al Attarine Madrasa, known for its intricate tilework, then stop at a traditional tanner’s workshop to observe how leather is dyed and processed using centuries-old techniques. Depart from Fez and begin a scenic journey through Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through cedar and oak forests, picturesque villages, and rolling hills. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you ascend the mountains, experiencing Morocco’s natural beauty and rural life.
Stop for lunch in Beni Mellal, located in the heart of the region, offering a perfect opportunity to stretch, refresh.
Continue your drive to Bin El Ouidane, a serene lakeside destination surrounded by mountains. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, relax, and enjoy dinner in this tranquil setting.

Depart from Bin El Ouidane and travel through the scenic Tadla plains, passing vast olive groves and rolling foothills. Along the way, stop at a Berber family’s home for traditional mint tea and an authentic cultural exchange, experiencing local hospitality and daily life.
Continue to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural sights. Admire the 330-foot cascading falls, surrounded by thousands of olive trees and picturesque scenery. There will be free time to explore and take photos, as well as enjoy lunch on your own.
Afterward, drive south to Marrakesh, where you will check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Begin your exploration of Marrakesh with a visit to the Majorelle Gardens, a serene botanical garden famous for its vibrant colors and exotic plants. Continue to Koutoubia Mosque, a 12th-century landmark known for its striking minaret.
Next, explore Dar el Bacha Palace & Museum, built by Pasha Thami el Glaoui in the early 1900s, showcasing Moroccan culture and exquisite zellige mosaic tilework. Stroll through the colorful souks to Le Jardin Secret, a historic garden dating back to the Saadian dynasty. Stop at an argan oil shop to learn about its production and uses.
Experience the lively atmosphere of the medina, where artisans practice their crafts and merchants sell traditional goods. Later, attend an authentic Moroccan cooking class in a traditional Riad. Learn how to prepare classic Moroccan dishes, including tajine and salads, under the guidance of local chefs.

Arise early for an optional Marrakesh Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride, offering breathtaking views of the city and surrounding landscapes as the sun rises. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast upon returning to the hotel.
